Another month! Between 1 week of holidays and the shorter month it feels like I just did this update. But I actually got quite a bit done this month, looks like this little list is working for me.
Previous WIP update for reference.
1. Skill Builder BOM at Pile O’ Fabric
Still behind, haven’t done a single stitch yet. My thread arrived, so I actually have everything I need, I just haven’t had a chance to get started. And now I’m almost 2 whole months behind. Yikes!
2. Lucky Stars BOM at Don’t Call me Betsy
I am up to date! I showed the practice block last month, but here are my first two official blocks. The new block comes out tomorrow. I’m learning TONS about paper piecing, namely how I’m missing the part of my brain that would make me successful. I have repeated the same errors umpteen times, but practice makes perfect right?
3. Zig Zag Quilt for Addie
I worked on the quilt math and packed up all my supplies to bring this to my craft group tomorrow night (I hope to get everything cut and all the HSTs marked). By the end of the weekend I hope to have all my HSTs sewn. Maybe I’ll be done by the end of next weekend (and thus by Addie’s birthday!).
4. Madrona Road challenge for the Saskatoon Modern Quilt Guild
Done! I blogged about it earlier this week.
Here she is:
5. Simply Solids: a modern {bee} at Sew at Home Mommy
I am ahead. The March block instructions were posted weeks ago so I got it done after our trip and blogged about it then.
In terms of my blocks rolling in I am still waiting on one. I plan on adding some of my own but I’m not sure how many yet. Thoughts?
Here it is so far (blocks in no particular order):
6. Small Private Bee – No progress
7. Postage Stamp Quilt for my nephew – No progress
8. Handstiched Camp Quilt – No progress
9. Waiting for Spring Block-a-palooza – No progress
10. Patchwork Squared Modern Solids Quilt-a-long – No progress
11. Name tag for the Saskatoon Modern Quilt Guild – No Progress
12. Ugly Fat Quarter Challenge for the SMQG
Done! I made a zipper pouch by Elizabeth Hartman. My first time sewing a zipper. Is it perfect? Heck no! I missed a critical step and didn’t sew the entire length of the top, I only sewed beside the zipper, being my first time I thought that step might come later? Well it didn’t. I missed it. By the time I realized, I had done the gussets on the bag and turned it. So there was no going back. It’s still functional and I might try cleaning it up by hand, but for now it is done. I’m actually pretty pleased with it otherwise so I plan on making another one at some point.
13. do. Good Stitches Charity Bee
Ongoing. I blogged about the February blocks and the March block was just posted a few days ago. I’m not up as quilter until May, so until then just blocks every month.
14. Quilt for baby V (Not me! I got more than a few emails)
I’ve spoken to the mom and we are discussing colours, no other progress, baby is due in August so you’ll be seeing a finish before then.
New Additions
15. Saskatoon Modern Quilt Guild Colour Challenge
We drew crayons out of a toque (we are Canadian, of course). Two crayons plus neutrals, those are the only colours to work with. I got green and yellow. I actually have a good plan for what I’m going to do already, but nothing started yet. And here is a hint, I won’t be using any neutrals.
I’m happy, this month I was able to remove more than I added to my pile, and it was short to boot. Onward!

You manage to get a heck of a lot done in a month with everything you’ve got going on…!!
I adore your UFQ bee bag. Massively. You may have changed my mind on that fabric I hated. May have.
Your converging corners is looking so great so far!
Thanks Carly!
