Block-A-Palooza #12

9 Mar

Between wrapping up a few gift projects and patiently awaiting my new sewing machine I fell behind about a week with Block-A-Palooza, but I finished up block #12 tonight. Only 4 more to go!

Block 12 comes from Sugar Stitches. For this one I did not have enough of any of the fabrics the designer used so I started sorting through my Sunkissed scraps to find another combination that worked.

Here are all my cut pieces:

Unfortunately I was still a little short on the white patterned fabric, so I had to improvise (some too small blocks were pieced together) which is visible in the finished block but hopefully will not be terribly noticeable once the entire quilt is finished.

And now I have 12 completed blocks!

I tested my seam allowance last night on my new machine but must not have been accurate enough because this entire block measures small. If it ends up being a problem with final construction I might end up having to start it over. I’ll see how much fabric I have left at the end.

Tomorrow I’m picking up a baby quilt form the long-arm quilter so tonight I prepared binding.

Miles and miles of binding:

Stripy binding makes me smile.

    Thanks Debbie!

The binding is my very favorite part too! So many people don’t enjoy it but I even like the hand stitching 🙂
