Yup, I skipped week 3 of the Modern Solids Quilt Along, for now that is. You see there are prizes on the flickr group if you get your blocks posted within the week. I knew I didn’t have time for 4 blocks before the deadline so I’ll try to catch up over the weekend.
The first is called Diamond Mine. There is just something so satisfying about perfect half square triangles:

Once again, I think I might have a problem with the brown and purple being too close in colour value. I’ve decided to continue rolling with it, but some of the designs don’t pop as much as they do with the sample fabrics.
The second block is called Fourth Inning:
I think an entire quilt made out of this block would be really cool. I like the way this one turned out. I replaced the purple with white for a better effect.
So that wraps up week 4, hopefully I can get week 3 blocks done this week as well and be caught up.

It is so nice having little thread snips right by my machine instead of always pulling out the huge scissors.
