Tax season was way more involved this year than what I remember from last year. All the projects I started before the tax season black hole are still unfinished, very little time was spent sewing in April and May. I finally feel like I have some free time back and so, I hope, between all the summer activity, I have lots of time in the sewing room.
I started a quilt for my nephew before Christmas and just finally sat back down with it today. My sister decided she wanted it to fold into a pillow, she had a quilt like that when she was a kid and it was her favourite. Truth is I don’t exactly know how to do that so I put it aside. I didn’t want to get to0 far before I figured out what needed to be done.
So I got started again after I figured out where I was (excuse the blurriness of some photos, my husband is currently ripping apart a wall in our house with a rotary hammer and everything is vibrating):
This is a postage stamp quilt, so although I will follow Nova’s instructions as best I can my top will be nothing like hers.
I have 16 strip sets to sew together, I am done the ones with more white, but still have 8 left to sew together.
That didn’t stop me from cutting my first three sets:
Not exactly the most productive sewing weekend but it’s a start.
