Snowy Sunday

6 Nov

I woke up this morning to see this out my back door:

Nov 6 2011 (1 of 2)

Our first actual snowfall of the season! It’s late this year too so I am counting my blessings.

I decided to hit the sewing room with a mug of apple cider and my music. I have actually been sewing a few hours here and there every week, but am still working on the same project so have not been blogging about it.

The Garden Fence pattern from Hyacinth Quilt Designs is proving challenging. It’s not necessarily difficult but each block is very time consuming as there are many steps and lots of stopping to press between. I’m averaging 15-20 minutes per block just for piecing. I’m doing two at a time so that I don’t get them mixed up (I already sorted the patterns).

As of today here is what I have done:

Nov 6 2011 (2 of 2)

I’m 50% done the blocks for the top! I still think I can meet the December 1st deadline I have given myself, I just need to put in a few hours most days of the week.
