Doll Quilts

3 Mar

It started innocently enough with a doll quilt I made for a Christmas gift. I bought a little cloth doll for a sweet toddler and wanted to make a wee quilt to match.

It was a really fun and quick project so I put out an offer to make quilts for more of my friends with young children. What toddler doesn’t want a sweet blanket to play with their doll? We are all dolls, all the time around here lately.

I played with value in the first one I made and although it turned out a little smaller than I would have liked I’m still happy with the result.

Since the first quilt I have finished another three.

These are a fun way to test out a new pattern or try something when I don’t have time to commit to a full quilt. Expect to see photos pop up in my Instagram and Flickr feed from time to time. I have a long list in cue so I’ll be working on them throughout the year as time allows.

These are darling! I love making them too, and grandgirl has several at my house AND at home – even several I made her mommy when she was a little girl… 😉
